Dear John,
I have to say that you are a master craftsman! You have chosen the perfect
nib for my beloved Parker Sonnet which I bought from you so long ago. It
writes extremely smoothly, and really approximates the feel of the nib I had
on the pen before it was damaged and had to be replaced. Kudos to you! I
have not been able to try out the new slide converter yet, because I am a
bit low on ink, but I'm sure it will work very well. I especially like the
fact that it has the small ball in it, which I am sure will increase the ink
flow substantially.
I'm starting a drawing with the Parker Sonnet right now, because I do like
to use this pen for drawing. My other fine writing instrument is a Mont
Blanc Le Grande # 148, but I like to use it for handwriting. Once I've
finished the design I am working on right now, I will send you a computer
scan of it for your viewing pleasure.
Sincerely, and with great thanks, Laurence.

Dear John:
My pen arrived in the mail last week. I want to let you know that it is not only satisfactory, but works like a new pen (while retaining the comfort and familiarity of the pen I have been using every day for almost fifty years!) Thanks again for your workmanship and for your promptness.

John,
As you know, I was new to fountain pens and you set me on the right path and armed me with everything I needed to know. You answered my questions before I had a chance to ask them ... always one step ahead.
Since taking home my Waterman's Ideal #32, I've rediscovered a passion for writing that I had long since lost. I'm quickly running out of paper but I know my pen will last.
I suspect it won't be long before I'm back for another pen to start my "collection."
Merci!

I had not thought it possible to restore my original 1953 Esterbrook pen or my graduation gift of a 1960 Sheaffer Snorkel pen until I sent them to John. After being patient with my on-slaught of emails regarding these pens, various inks, and other miscellaneous questions, John restored my dear old Esterbrook and original Snorkel pen, plus 3 others that I had acquired since then. Besides being a pleasant and informative pen pal, pun intended, John is an expert in the rare art of fountain pen use and restoration. I can't recommend him or his work too highly, and thank him again for his fine work on my behalf.

A trade, a skill, and an art, is what a fountain pen is about. It is also a love for things unique as the individual that would choose to own one. A challenge for those who take the time and care to repair them, and once again bring them back to life, so they can be enjoyed again as they should be. Many thanks again John, I am quite happy with my simple Parker Moderne Fountain pen, its alive again..

Recently, my wife told me that she would like to have a fountain pen. I remembered two Parker pens I had- both sixty years old and not used for for over forty years. I called John at the Peel Pen Shop, and I was extremely pleased with the friendly and helpful advice that I received.I sent both pens for repair and received excellent customer service. The turnaround time was amazingly fast. I now have two vintage Parker pens in fine working condition. I consider them family heirlooms, and would like to thank John Culmer at the Peel Pen Shop for making them a part of a meaningful family tradition. My wife was thrilled to receive the gift of a vintage Parker pen in excellent repair - and accompanied by an attractive certificate of authenticity! My daughter now has one, too!

When I was about 13 years old, my mother
gave me a Parker 51 fountain pen. This was at a time when
ballpoint pens were becoming increasingly popular, and
although I did use the Parker for a while, it just didn't
stack up against the lure of the new and "cooler" technology
of the disposable ballpoint. After a rather brief period of
trying to honour my mother's gift by using it, I
succumbed to the lure of the new, and tucked the Parker
away in a drawer where it languished - ink and all - for
the next 35
years. Then, while researching an article about fountain
pens, I encountered John Culmer, owner of the Peel Pen Shop
in London, Ontario. John's enthusiasm and nearly
lexicographical knowledge of all things "pen" was so
infectious that I went home, managed to dig out the old
Parker, and with some help from John, got it writing again.
Now, a few months later, I own five fountain pens, but no
more ballpoints; have joined the Peel Pen Shop's pen club,
and have found complete writing contentment in the graceful
and anachronistic world of traditional pen and ink. And all
this has come about to a very large degree because of the
knowledge, patience and support of John Culmer of the Peel
Pen Shop, and the delightful and informed members of the Pen Club.

Evening John!
I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for the excellent service you've recently provided. I am amazed time and again at your expertise and also your patience with the less knowledgeable, such as myself. I hope to do business with you for many years to come. Good luck with your new website!
